Birds at Tempe and Along the Cooks River – 14 March 2026

I joined the Tempe Birdos for their monthly bird survey. This time, I joined the group surveying at Tempe Wetlands.

Here are some of the birds we saw in the wetlands and their hinterland.

Dusky Moorhens

Pacific Black Duck

Laughing Kookaburra

Red Wattlebird with Cicada

Dusky Moorhen with chick –

Brown Goshawk

Later, at Tempe Reserve, for morning tea, a few more birds –

Little Corella

Little Heron

And then I walked up the Cooks River, via Gough Whitlam Park to Illawarra Road.

Pelicans

Little Pied Cormorant

White-faced Heron

This was a very pleasant way to spend the morning.
