Barton Park and Cooks River Birds – 15 April 2026

I spent a pleasant day visiting two locations for some birds photography. First I went to Barton Park, which includes the Landing Lights Wetland, and then I caught a bus to Tempe and walked to Gough Whitlam Park, where I had lunch. I later walked up the river to Illawarra Road.

During the day, I observed a good range of birds. Here are some that I photographed –

Now at Tempe. A Great Egret was at Gumbramorra Creek.

I walked up the Cooks River via Gough Whitlam Park to Illawarra Road, and I didn’t see too many birds. Here is a Little Pied Cormorant
