I went on a short but very enjoyable walk with Valerie in Kamay Botany Bay National Park. We started from Potter Point and walked north along the coastal cliffs to the historic Cape Baily Lighthouse and then a bit further north. Along the way, we had to shelter in a cave to shelter from a rain squall. But the rainy weather added to the atmosphere and certainly provided better photos of the marvellous sandstone.
There are some amazing patterns in the sandstone.
And the cliffs are majestic!
as we got close to the Cape Baily Lighthouse, I spotted a Peregrine Falcon on the top. Later, looking at the photo, there was a second Peregrine Falcon lower down on the railing.
As I got closer, the Peregrine Falcon took off. It flew my way.
By the time I got the lighthouse, I spotted the second Peregrine Falcon.
And the first one had returned, and was perched on the far side.
Both birds took off when it started raining, and so did we. We headed to a nearby overhang which offered some shelter from the rain.
When the rain eased, we resumed our walk north. The coastal heath is also really nice.

We found a nice place to have lunch, and then start walking slowly back.
