I headed back up to Macquarie Park to again check a certain location in Lane Cove National Park for the rare Parrot Waxcaps. There had been some rain recently and I hoped there would be some fresh ones.
Here are some of the fungi I found –

Gliophorus psittacinus group
This was the only large Parrot Waxcap I spotted, and it looks a well past its best. Look below at a crop showing the creature foraging under the cap –

I think the two tiny ones above are likely to be Parrot Waxcaps. I hope they get bigger.

I have seen this multicoloured fungus before at Ferndale Park at Chatswood. I am not sure if the colours are intrinsic or due to ageing or infections with moulds.
