I spent a pleasant, but rather cold and windy day out n Malabar Headland – with Sue and Valerie. Our main aim was to observe the resident Peregrine Falcons, but we only had brief glimpses of one flying off. But the other birds were quite good.
Not long after leaving Maroubra Beach, we spotted an Osprey fly past with a fish.
It flew past and then circled around.
Then a Nankeen Kestrel appeared and started hunting.
Then the Osprey flew past again. It seemed to be looking for a suitable spot to eat its fish.
We had not even entered the National Park at this stage. Once in the Park, we saw a number of New Holland Honeyeaters.
And we later saw a Peregrine Falcon fly past –
There were Humpback Whales but they were a fair way out and not very active.
Then later on, a Peregrine Falcon flew quickly past –
It was quite cold, mainly due to the wind, so we left early to walk back.

And, just as we were leaving the Park, we spotted a Black Shouldered Kite.
