I had the pleasure of attending the 70th Anniversary Celebration of SUBW – Sydney University Bush Walkers which was held on the evening of 28th September in a craft brewery at Camperdown.
The event was a trip down memory lane. My history with the club goes back to 1974, so it was very good to meet many old bushwalking friends who were there and chat and recall past adventures and good times.
We were also entertained with stories, recollections, old gear show and tells and numerous old photos taken on club trips.
It was interesting to see that a lot of the people present, all past member of the club are still active bushwalkers and also active in conservation organisations and activities.
Here are a few photos I took on the evening –
Congratulations to the organising committee. A special magazine for the anniversary was produced and is available from the SUBW online shop.
