This was another nice visit to Malabar Headland, with Sue, Valerie and later, Alana.

On the walk out from Maroubra Beach, we didn’t see too many birds and no whales or dolphins.
When we arrived at near Boora Point, I spotted a distant bird. I thought it may be a Peregrine Falcon flying towards us, but as it got closer, it turned out to be a White Faced Heron. I had my camera ready.

It then suddenly deviated from its flight path.

It was only later, when chimping, that I saw the reason for the sudden change of flight path. A Peregrine Falcon was flying towards it.

It flew past the Heron at high speed.

A bit later, a Peregrine falcon zoomed past us.

It turned and came back.

Another turn.

Then it landed on a sandy ledge.

It then started calling –

More calling.

It was probably calling for its mate. Perhaps wanting to mate or wanting food?
It then took off –

Some more flying around –

Next, we spotted some Dolphins. There were lots of them spread out over a large area.

Then a Peregrine Falcon appeared and flew past. It was looking down on the cliffs.

And now it was the turn of the Humpback Whales. One, a fair way out to sea was breaching.

And, on the walk back to Maroubra Beach, we spotted a Caspian Tern –
