I enjoyed a very pleasant day photographing in Royal National Park at Bundeena with Digi Dave. Rain was forecast, and as we headed out to Bundeena, it looked unlikely it would rain in the next few hours, so we headed out to the sea cliffs at the start of the Coastal Track.
We soon arrived at The Balconies. There were plenty of photographic subjects – wildflowers, the many honeyeaters and other birds darting around the coastal heath. The sea cliffs and rock formations and also the possibility of whales cruising past on their southward migration.
It was interesting to see, perched on top of one of the cliffs the signs of an old dwelling. Perhaps now heritage?
We spent an enjoyable and relaxing two hours or so, and then headed back to Digi Dave’s car and then into Bundeena for lunch.
Next, we headed to the nearby Bonnie Vale Wetlands. This is a good place for bird photography. There were a few ducklings around and some cormorants and egrets. It was also nice to spot a pair of Sacred Kingfishers.
We later walked through the camping area and along the track to the bridge over the Cabbage Tree Basin. More birds – e.g. Spoonbills and a lot of little crabs running round the sand and then scarring to their holes if you got too close.
This was a nice day out. More photos are online on my website here.
