I spent an enjoyable day with Digi Dave photographing along part of the Illawarra Coast mainly near Wombarra and Coledale.
We headed through Royal National Park and our first stop was the lookout at Otford. We there proceeded a little further along to Stanwell Tops for a few more photos.
Then down the hill and along the coast to the Seabridge. This is a favourite subject for photographers and this is not surprising given the sweeping curves of the bridge and its location nestled between the cliffs and the ocean. It took us a while to find the best spot for photos, but the effort was worth it.
Then we headed a little further along the coast to Wombarra and its rockpool. Here there are some nice rock platforms. And also a nice spot for lunch.
Next, we stopped near the camping area at Coledale and headed north a short way to more rock platforms. There is also an eroded feature – a dyke, that makes a good subject, but recent heavy seas had dumped a huge amount of kelp all over the place.
Our last stop was back at the Seabridge. This time at the northern end. We found a ramp leading down to the rock platform below the bridge. Some Sooty Oystercatchers and a Sea Eagle flying past provided more subjects.
I also shot some video using a UAV. Here is the edited version –
