Balls Head – 6 Nov 2017

This was supposed to be a photographic storm chasing trip to Balls Head. But, by the time I got there, the storm had passed over. However, I still enjoyed a nice walk around the headland.

I travelled by train to Waverton and walked the short distance from the station to the headland. At the nursery near the Coal Loader is a large Aboriginal engraving of a whale in the sandstone. It is worth looking for.

I then made my way to a lookout on a rock ledge overlooking the harbour.

After a few photos, I wandered along some of the tracks and took a few photos.

Then I continued on the track down to the Coal Loader. On previous recent visits this track has been closed due to redevelopment work. The local council are employing contractors to make a roof garden on top of the building. This work is still proceeding.
