Birds at Tempe Wetlands – 27 November 2017

I spent a pleasant afternoon at Tempe wetlands photographing birds (and a few lizards).

Red Wattlebird

I was unable to spot the rails I had seen on previous trips. They had been at the upper pool, and this has filled up even more, so the level is higher and water now covers the beach area that I had last seen one on.

Welcome Swallow

While I was watching for them to see if they were around, I did spot a pair of Red Wattlebirds playing in the water. They looked like they were  having a bath – flying down and immersing their whole bodes in the water –

There were also lots of Superb Fairy Wrens around –

Here are some of the other birds at the Wetlands –

Red Browed Finch

New Holland Honeyeater

Bulbul

And quite a few Welcome Swallows zooming close to the water in the middle pool –

I finished my visit by ing for a walk around the wastelands behind the Container Depot. Here I spotted a Black Faced Cuckoo Shrike –

And some other small birds that I don’t know what they are –

Also some Starlings having a race –

Not much of interest at Tempe Reserve.
