Birds at Tempe Wetlands – 9 December 2017

I headed to Tempe Wetlands early in the morning to join the Tempe Birdos for their monthly bird survey.

Superb Fairy Wren

Early on one of the members noticed a Willie Wagtail sitting on a nest fairly close to one of the tracks. We had to be very careful watching the bird as we did  not want to disturb the bird.

Here are some of the other birds we observed –

Australasian Grebe

Black Faced Cuckoo Shrike

Dusky Moorhen chick

Butcher Bird (juvenile)

Butcher Bird and chick

Pacific Black Duck

Skink

Red Browed Finch

New Holland Honeyeater

After finishing the survey, we then went to nearby Tempe Reserve for morning tea. And what a morning tea – a special Christmas morning tea with lots of great food and some nice drinks.

I then headed back to the Wetlands for a few more photos –
