Wattamolla and Audley – in Royal National Park – 15 August 2018

I joined Digi Dave for a pleasant and fairly relaxing day in Royal National Park. We first visited Wattamolla. We walked out the new track to Providential Point – where we spent a fair time sitting and waiting for whales to pass. We did see some whales – but they were a long way out to sea.

We also looked for any passing raptors. None were around. I did photograph some of the abundant New Holland Honeyeaters and Crested Terns.

I then traversed the very interesting ledge, a short way below the top of the cliffs. It shows off some amazing eroded sandstone.

Nearby we saw a Rock Warbler –

We then headed back to the carpark, and drove to Audley. We parked at Wattle Flat. Not that many birds in the picnic area.

So we headed upstream into the rainforest. Here are some of the birds we saw –
