It had been a while since I had cycled around Iron Cove. Its a very nice bay with a lot to see. The main obstacle to cyclists are the huge number of pedestrians – walkers and joggers.
In some place the peds are segregated from the cyclists by dual tracks – although some of joggers do overflow onto the clearly marked bikes only track.
The track goes right around the cove – and there is a wide cycle/walking lane on the newer of the two Iron Cove Bridges.
I tried riding up the cove along the Balmain foreshores – nice riding for a while, but then came across steps heading up to a road. Is that the end of the pathway? More exploration is needed.
Hi Dave.. Looks like you’ve done some very scenic rides. Would like to join you and your group if that’s ok. I’m fairly amateur an can only manage about 30 40kms but am unable to find new scenic rides. Do let me know if if you have a group that I can join. Cheers, Kartik.
I really don’t have a “group” as such. Sometimes I go off and ride by myself – sometimes with friends.
