Shame – Cooks River Birds – 28 March 2019

I got home early from my Lane Cove fungi walk, so later that afternoon I cycled down to the Cooks River, with my camera to see what birds were out. At the Boat Harbour, I soon spotted two tawny Frogmouths perched in a tree.

I managed to get some photos –

Then I went a little further to see what the pelicans were doing. There were four sitting on the southern arm of the harbour. One of them jumped off and padded about in the harbour. It was very sad to see it trying to eat some of the floating cans and plastic bottles.

These birds deserve better!
