Lane Cove River Fungi – Revisit – 16 July 2019

Like the day before, I made a second visit to a small section of the rainforest along the Lane Cove River to check out how some fungi had changed and also to get more photographs for some of the other fungi nearby.

This time I wanted to further observe the Parrot Waxcaps, the ones we think are Gliophorus psittacinus var. psittacinus. In the past, I have seen them change to a yellow-orange colour. I don’t think they had changed that much, some had dried out.

The coral fungi in the area is also interesting. In particular, this very tiny coral – it is a tan colour, with a darker base. It can be a single club, or it can branch – splitting in two several times. I don’t know what it is. Perhaps a Ramariopsis sp.

More photos are online here on my website.
