Out With the Tempe Birdos – 12 October 2019

The second Saturday of the month is the time for the Tempe Birdos bird survey at Tempe Wetlands and Reserve.

This survey was notable for the number of nesting birds we observed.

Here are some of the birds we saw  –

Magpie Larks

Australian Magpie

Willie Wagtails

Eastern Koels

Superb fairy-wrens

Red Wattlebird

After morning tea, I cycled home via the Cooks River and checked out some of the Tawny Frogmouths.

Love your photos Dave – I’ve been chasing some of those same birds around Tempe (notably the koels) with a lot less success, so its great to see your photos. I haven’t seen frogmouths for years, and yet you show me 3 just up the river – will have to get out my bicycle and go and try to find some.
