Curra Moors Walk – 25 February 2020

As walks go, the loop around the Curra Moors in Royal National Park is hard to beat. Its great for wildflowers, birds, first and coastal heath, the great sea cliffs and some of the highest waterfalls close to Sydney.

This was another walk with the National Parks Association of NSW, and led by Brian Everingham. in the park were Brian, Faye, SueB, Sue W, Pat, Ann, Claire, Surangani, Paul, Valerie, Aurora, Gary and myself.

As we walked along the track we found plenty of interesting things to photograph.

Boletellus sp.

Brian pointed out a Skipper – He later identified it as a Splendid Ochre, Trapezites symmomus

And Brian identified this as most likely a Common Grass Blue – Zizina labradus

Here is one of the many New Holland Honeyeaters –

We arrived at Eagle Rock –

It was a warm day, and some of us had a swim in Curracurrong Creek.

We continued along the Coastal Track towards Garie.

And then continued on the Curra Moors Fire Trail to reach the track we had walked in on.

An excellent day out.
