Homebush Bay Ride – 9 April 2020

This was another exercise bike ride out along the Cooks River Cycleway to Homebush Bay.

I stopped on the way to photograph some fungi – in particular some stinkhorns. Here are three species –

Aseröe rubra

Lysurus mokusin

Phallus rubicundus

At Mason Park Wetlands, I photographed a single Black-fronted Dotterel

I then continued to the bird pond at Bicentennial Park. Here are some of the birds –

I then went through Wentworth Common. Here is an Australian Grebe

I then headed  to the Brickpit. No special birds. So I continued riding west and ended up at the wetlands of Newington Armory. I then headed to Woo-la-ra. Here I saw a Black-shouldered Kite perched in a tree. I managed to get a few photos before it flew off.

Then I returned home.
