Another early start for a bird survey. This time along the Greenway from Taverners Hill to Hawthorne. And again it was an informal small group of us who undertook the survey.
At Teverners Hill Light Rail Station, being high up, it has often been a good place to spot birds. This time we saw White-plumed and Yellow-faced Honeyeaters.
Also, we saw some Spotted Pardalotes.
Lower down along the pathway, it was a lot quieter. We saw Superb Fairy-wrens and Red Wattlebirds.
Near Marion Street we saw the usual lot of Noisy Miners –
And there were plenty of Rainbow Lorikeets –
We saw a White-faced Heron fly down the Hawthorne Canal. It later landed.
And being harassed by Noisy Miners was a Striated Heron.
