Birds at Emu Green – 14 August 2020

I spent a nice day out at Emu Green at Emu Plains doing bird photography. The birds I saw were similar to what I had seen on my first trip there. While there, I met Gavin, another bird photographer who I had seen before at Nurragingy Reserve. We looked for birds together during the morning.

Here are some of the birds –

Common Blackbird

New Holland Honeyeater

Lewin’s Honeyeater

Double-barred Finches

Zebra Finches

Red-browed Finches

Eastern Yellow Robin

Silvereyes

Eastern Spinebill

Golden-headed Cisticola

Grey Fantail

Superb Fairy-wren

Variegated Fairy-wren

Brown Quail

Peaceful Doves

Bar-shouldered Dove

Satin Bowerbird

Brown Falcons

The Brown Falcon has caught something – it looks like small bird. It takes it to the electricity pylon to eat.

There was a second Brown Falcon cruising around. Neither of them were very close.

There was another raptor that I photographed –

I think this may be a Whistling Kite. I also saw a Brown Goshawk but it was too quick to get a photograph of.

The raptor below may be a Swamp Harrier –

Thank you for putting this together. As someone yet to visit, it’s an excellent guide – and great photos too!
