Birds at Pejar Dam – 28 September 2020

I was heading to Boorawa with Digi Dave for a stay at a friend’s property. Digi Dave suggested driving down via Crookwell as this would allow us to visit Pejar Dam. This sounded like a good idea.

It was. There were plenty of interesting birds to be seen around the dam. In particular there were a few Diamond Firetails close to the parking area. Here are some of them –

Tere were also plenty of Red-browed Finches. Here is one –

In the water were a lot of the usual waterbirds – Coots and Teals etc. But there was also a number of Greater Crested Grebes.

There were also some Dusky Woodswallows.

Here is a Grey Shrike-thrush

A Red-rumped Parrot

There were a lot of Yellow-rumped Thornbills

And a few Starlings
