Greenway Bird Survey – 23 January 2021

It was good to be able to join the bird survey held by the Inner West Environment Group along the Greenway near Waratah Mills Light Rail Station.

Near the station, we spotted our first birds – a pair of roosting Tawny Frogmouths.

They seemed more awake when we finished the survey – here are some more photos from then –

Here are some of the other birds we saw along the way.

Superb Fairy-wren

New Holland Honeyeaters

Silvereye

Sparrow

Laughing Kookaburras

Red Wattlebird

Pacific Koel (juvenile)

Red-whiskered Bulbul

After the survey, we finished off with coffee at a nearby cafe. Then it was time to head home – it was going to be a very hot day.
