It was a nice day for walking, and I decided to repeat the walk from Thornleigh to Eastwood via the Land Cove River and Terrys Creek. I was on the lookout for fungi, orchids and birds. I heard a fair few birds as I walked – but didn’t manage to photograph very many. The fungi was not as abundant as I was hoping, but I did find a few nice species.

Here is some fungi from below Thornleigh Oval to Browns Waterhole –
Bolete (unknown species)

Entoloma viriscens –

Russula sp. –

Ramaria abietina –

Clavulinopsis sulcata –

Geoglossum cookeanum –

Cantherellus concinnus –

Here is a tiny beetle of a crust fungus –

Boletellus deceptivus –

Amanita farancea –

Rimbachia cf. bryophila –

Perhaps Leucocoprinus lacrymans –

At Browns Waterhole, I continued down the river for about 15 minutes to check out some fungi –

I photographed this same fungi on the previous trip. It is a spine fungus, and could be Hydnellum fraudulentum. But that species normally has a blue tint. This could be a variant or perhaps something else.
Here is a Greenhood Orchid –

There is a large rock above Browns Waterhole that I have looked at a few times. I think this is an Aboriginal engraving –

And some faint sharpening grooves –

I had lunch near Browns Waterhole, then headed up Terrys Creek. Here is some fungi –
Hygrocybe aurantiopallens –

Clavulinopsis amoena –

Austropaxillus muelleri –

Clavulinopsis sulcata –

Hygrocybe sp. –

Perhaps Ramaria flaccida –

Clavulinopsis fusiformis –

Stereopsis hiscens –

Clavulinopsis fusiformis –

Helvella fibrosa –

Clavulinopsis fusiformis –

Armillaria sp. –

Omphalotus nidiformis –

Thanks to Ray Halling for id advice on one of the boletes.
