Greenway Bird Survey – 22 January 2022

I was pleased to be able to take part in the Greenway Bird Survey. The group met outside Waratah Mills Light Rail Station at 7:30 am and then slowly walked around the loop looking for birds.

Just before we set off, one member David Hair, looked up and spotted small group of White-throated Needletails flying overhead. I just managed to get a photo of one of them.

Here are some of the other birds that we spotted –

New Holland Honeyeaters

Sparrow

Red Wattlebird

Willie Wagtail

Juvenile Pacific Koel

And we saw a few of these flying about in a bushland area. Perhaps a Blue Hairy Flower WaspScolia soror.
