Birds at Barton Park and Sydney Park – 23 March 2022

I visited two places during the day – first going to Barton Park, then catching a bus up the road to finish at Sydney Park.

It turned out to be a relatively quiet day.

Barton Park

Here is a Willie Wagtail

At Landing Lights Wetland there were the usual Pied Stilts

Like my previous visit, the water surface was rippled – making photography difficult.

A raptor flew pasta fair way off. I think it is a Collared Sparrowhawk.

A bit later via came past again – and also a long way off.

Another Pied Stilt

And now some of the bird sin the upper area –

New Holland Honeyeater

Red-browed Finches

Yellow Thornbill

Sydney Park

Black Swan

And some fungi was out.

Lysurus mokusin

Here is a portrait of a Pacific Black Duck –

This could be one reason it was quiet bird wise  – a pair  of Peregrine Falcons flying overhead.

And this could be another reason – a cat lurking in the wetlands –

Wow, beautiful visual essay of ecological dynamics! Gorgeous duck portrait — almost a Mona Lisa expression.
