It had been a while since I had visited Wolli Creek – the nearest bushland to where I live. So I decided to do an afternoon walk from Bexley North down the creek along the Two Valleys Track. I was on the lookout for birds and fungi. The birds were pretty poor all the way along – perhaps because it been raining a lot recently. At first the fungi was also poor, but it got a lot better as I headed downstream.
Here is some fungi in the upper section of the creek –
Jelly Fungus – Tremella sp.
Bracket Fungi –
In Girrahween Park, in the grass I saw this Amanita xanthocephala –
And growing on the wood of one of the picnic tables was this Jelly Fungus – Heterotextus pezizformis –
I continued along the track. Here is some more fungi –
Cantherellus concinnus
I was damp enough forelegs to be out. Here is a Red Triangle Slug. I am not sure why it seems to have its guts exposed. You can easily make out is breathing hole in the triangle.
Rickenella fibula
Russula sp.
Boletellus sp.
Lactarius eucalypti
The best fungi of the day was all near the rock climbing area.
Clavulinopsis sulcata
Clavulinopsis amoena
Gliophorus graminicolor
Clavulinopsis amoena
Gliophorus graminicolor
Clavulinopsis amoena
This Leopard Slug seems to be feeding on a fungus.
Gliophorus graminicolor
Ramariopsis crocea
Puffball – Lycoperdon sp.
Notice all the Springtails on the puffball.
Russula rosea
Mycena sp.
