Last week I did two walks down the Lane Cove Valley to look for and photograph fungi. A fair bit was out – well spread out along the river.
On the 14th, I started from Thornleigh and walked to Thornleigh Oval and then started down the valley along the Great North Walk Track. I found fungi out in a few spots along the river. I walked to the Deburgh Bridge, crossed it and then walked down the Riverside Track to Porters Creek. There I found some nice strange green hygrocybes out.
I finished that walk by heading to Macquarie Park Station. Here are some of the fungi and wildflowers I saw on that walk –
Two days later, I returned to Macquarie Park and started my fungi walk at Porters Creek. I photographed again the strange green hygrocybes and also found a new orange hygrocybe was out. Then I followed the Riverside Track upstream to the Deburgh Bridge, crossed the bridge and then continued downstream on the Great North Walk Track to Fullers Bridge. From there I went up the Blue Gum Creek Track to Chatswood.
Here are some of the fungi I photographed –
More photos, together with identifications are on my website here (14th) and here (16th)
Interesting pics as usual. Was the Boronia really that colour? – I haven’t Boronia ledifolia that shade
I think that colour is pretty accurate. I did use “automatic white balance” – which is normally pretty good. And I did crank up the vibrance a little (but bot too much) in Lightroom.
