Birdwood Gully – Fungi and Orchids – 11 June 2023

This was another pleasant and interesting day wandering through the rainforest in Birdwood Gully at Springwood. I was joined by Sue.

A lot of the fungi we spotted was a bit dry. It would have been much better to visit a week or so earlier. We were also on the lookout for orchids.

Spurred Helmet OrchidCorybas aconitiflorus

Pixie Cap OrchidAcianthus fornicatus

Cobra Greenhood OrchidPterostylis grandiflora

Porpolomopsis lewelliniae

Clavulinopsis fusiformis

This one has been infected by mould –

Hygrocybe aurantiopallens

Ramariopsis kunzei

Hygrocybe aurantiopallens

Hygrocybe reesiae

Cortinarius sp.

Gliophorus graminicolor

Porpolomopsis lewelliniae

Hygrocybe batesii

Hygrocybe sp.

Gliophorus psittacinus group

Hygrocybe sp.

Hygrocybe sp.

Hygrocybe pseudograminicolor

Hygrocybe sp.

Hygrocybe aurantiopallens

This one was growing in a dark and gloomy spot. It is perhaps Hygrocybe roseoflavida

Hygrophorus involutus

Spurred Helmet OrchidCorybas aconitiflorus

Perhaps Hygrocybe roseoflavida –

I think these are Hygrocybe collucera

And another Greenhood Orchid. Pterostylis acuminata.
