Mudlarks Cooks River Bird Survey – 13 June 2023

It was a cool morning with mist sitting in the valley. Beautiful ethereal conditions for the Mudlarks to meet and survey the birds along the Cooks River.

This month, the group were surveying on the downstream loop.

Crested Pigeon

Rainbow Lorikeet

Little Corellas

Chestnut Teal

Australasian Figbird

At the Dibble Avenue Waterhole, we saw this Willie Wagtail

And there was an Australasian Grebe (probably the same one I had seen on Saturday).

A number of Welcome Swallows were flying over the grass of the golf course.

Grey Butcherbird

Little Corella

A flock of Topknot Pigeons flew high overhead (as they do) –

Musk Lorikeets

As usual, we finished off with morning tea and chat at Ewen Park. A nice start to the day!
