Lawson and Hazelbrook Waterfall Walk – 30 July 2015

I spent a pleasant day walking around some of the waterfalls to the south of Lawson and Hazelbrook in the Blue Mountains. I was also looking to see if any fungi was still out – very little was, so I ended up spending mrs time photographing the waterfalls.

Conditions were not very good for this – it was sunny and the water levels were quite low. But it is nice to be outdoors.

I started by walking from Lawson, down Honor Avenue to the start of the track down to Adelina Falls. I followed the loop down from Adelina Falls to Junction Falls and then to Federal Falls and then uphill to Cataract Falls.

Then I followed a fire road to the top of the Terrace Falls Track. I walked down past Victor Falls and to some nice cascades above Terrace Falls and then to Terrace Falls. Sunny conditions made photography of the waterfalls quite limited – so I had to be very selective with what I could photograph. I continued down to Bedford Creek and the Bedford Pool and downstream to Lester Pool. It was cold in the valley, so I backtracked a bit and climbed up the hill a bit to find a sung place for lunch. There was a faint track heading up the hill – perhaps it goes up to the Aeroplane Ridge fire road?

I then followed the track up Bedford Creek to the next pool, then back down and up via Terrace Falls and Victor Falls again. And then out via the fire road to Terrace Falls Road and Hazelbrook.
