I had been busy during the morning, processing the photos from Malabar Headland the day before. In the afternoon, I was keen to head outdoors, and decide to take a train to Lidcombe and visit Rookwood again. Compared to some previous recent visits, it was relatively quiet. Early on, I did see this Leaden Flycatcher –
I scanned a lot of trees for the Brown Goshawk pair I had seen before. I eventually spotted one –
And a Black-faced Cuckoo-shrike –
The Brown Goshawk was being harassed by some Magpies. I chased them away and flew into a pine tree –
And a bit later it flew into another more open tree –
And it later flew off =
I had noticed a number of large nests high in the trees. I wondered if one of them was where the Goshawks were nesting. The largest and best of these nest was the one. You can just make out the eye of a bird sitting on eggs –
Cropping in –
