Back to Sydney Park – 5 November 2023

It had been raining during the morning, but when the rain looked like it was clearing, I decided to head back to Sydney Park for an hour or two of bird photography.

This visit, I didn’t see any unusual birds – except brief glimpses of some Rails. Walking around, I heard the calls of a male Pacific Koel. I soon spotted the bird.

This Noisy Miner was working out how to eat a Stick Insect.

Australasian Grebe

This Dusky Moorhen looks like it has a millipede –

And this Rock Dove is having a problem with a Noisy Miner

And a distant raptor – a Brown Goshawk

With this distinctive hanging talon, it looks like one I have seen at Barton Park a few times during the past few years.
