I spent an hour or two at Barton Park photographing the birds.
I was a bit restricted. Entry into the old sporting fields next to the Golf Firing Range has been cut off. The old holes in the fence, used by dog walkers and others have now been sealed up. So the photos are from the Landing Lights Wetland and the Spring Street Canal.
White-faced Heron
The Pied Stilts were all bunched up. I thought that perhaps a raptor had been visiting earlier.
Chestnut Teal
I ddi see a Brown Goshawk – but it was not close to the pond.
The Pied Stilts were still watchful.
White-necked Heron
This is a rare visitor to the wetlands here.
