Valerie had invited both Sue and myself to lunch at her place, and as an after lunch activity, I suggested a visit to Rookwood Necropolis to see the juvenile Brown Goshawks.
It was a warm afternoon. and a lot of the birds at the Necropolis were not active. We eventual spotted one of the juvenile Brown Goshawks, but it did not give us many opportunities to observe it. I was lucky to get a few slight shots –
It perched in this tree, but only for short time –
It them moved to another pine tree. This one with a lot more vegetation. It was calling out, and we eventually spotted it.
And then it flew off again –
It landed in a good clear spot, but did not stay there long.
We could hear it calling again – from a distance. It seemed to be in another pine tree – with a lot of branches to hide in.
We think there was only one of the three juveniles that we saw.
One other bird – a White-plumed Honeyeater –
