Tempe Bird Survey – 13 January 2024

It was time for the monthly bird survey with the Tempe Birdos. The group meets near the lower water basin at Tempe Wetlands at 8 am. This Saturday, I joined the group surveying Tempe Reserve.

Here are some of the birds we saw –

Pacific Koel

Welcome Swallow

Peregrine Falcon

Grey Butcherbird

Australasian Figbird

Australian White Ibis

Galahs

Great Cormorants

The tide in the river was very high, and there were lots of mullet –

They were hunting for insects –

When we finished we joined with the other group surveying the wetlands and had morning tea at a picnic table at the Reserve. Here are some nearby Crested Pigeons

And later, walking back through the wetlands, here is an Australasian Grebe
