The Callicoma Walk – 24 March 2024

I joined my friends John and Chuin Nee and their son Sebastian on the Callicoma Walk – a track that goes down into Berowra Creek near Cherrybrook.

We started at Cherrybrook Lakes – a wetland area near the shopping complex.

Pacific Black Duck

It is quite an easy and pleasant walk.

We could see where Bandicoots had dug for truffles –

It didn’t take us long to reach Berowra Creek – where the Great North Walk joined our track, and then continued downstream.

We stopped here for lunch.

The Callicoma Walk then follows Nyrippin Creek upstream.

Golden Whistler

The track then leaves the creek and climbs up to a higher level – below a small cliffline.

It then drops again and follows an old sewer line. At one point, we followed side track down to The Grotto –

The last bit of the walk was following some roads back to Cherrybrook Lakes.
