Fungi at Sydney Park – 15 June 2024

It was raining, but it looked like there may be a few breaks, so I headed to Sydney Park to see if any new stinkhorns were out. When I arrived, I headed down to the gardens near the  new toilet block – they had been refreshed recently with wood chips. I found many Stinkhorns – but they were from only two species. I also found some new Birds Nest Fungi.

Pseudocolus fusiformis

I had not avoided the rain. Several times during my visit, I had to move to shelter at the new toilet block.

Birds Nest Fungi

Pseudocolus fusiformis and Birds Nest Fungi –

Pseudocolus fusiformis

Lysurus mokusin

Not many of this second species of stinkhorn were still intact.

More Birds Nest Fungi

It was certainly interesting to see these strange fungi.
