Fungi at Birdwood Gully, Springwood – 1 April 2025

I thought it about time to check out what fungi was around at Birdwood Gully at Springwood. So I caught a train up the mountains and was soon walking down the track from Boland Avenue.

The fungi was reasonable. Here are some that I spotted –

Hygrocybe sp.

Russula sp.

Clavulinopsis sp.

Clavulinopsis amoena

Ramaria sp.

Clavulinopsis sulcata

Hygrocybe helicoides

Ramaria sp.

Phaeoclavulina abietina

Rimbachia cf. bryophila

Perhaps Hygrocybe apricosa

Perhaps Hygrocybe rodwayi

Entoloma virescens group

Hygrocybe sp.

Clavulinopsis amoena

This slime mould is perhaps Leocarpus fragilis

Phaeoclavulina abietina

Ramaria sp.

Phaeoclavulina ochracea

Omphalotus nidiformis (and Mycena aff. mamaku)

There were also some orchids at one spot. Chiloglottis sp. Orchid
