I spent an interesting morning at Sydney Park photographing birds. Others had recently seen a Barn Owl and a Boobook Owl at the park, and I wanted to see if they were still around.

Walking down past the ponds, I photographed these Dusky Moorhens –

And on the island, there was an Australasian Darter.

It was easy to locate the Barb Owl, a group of bird photographers were gathered in one spot with lenses pointing at a Casuarina. But the bird, although large, was h rad to see clearly. It was roosting in dense vegetation.

Some more birds.

Back to the heron.

I had spent a fair bit of time looking for the Boobook Owl, but it had probably moved on. I went back to the Barn Owl. It had not changed much. It was still ver hard to see.
