I joined Brian Everingham and party from the National Parks Association of NSW for a nice morning walk along the coast near Bundeena. We stared at the Balconies and walked out to near the White Slab (Wedding Cake Rock or Cheesecake Rock), and then back. We then had a very nice lunch at the Bundeena RSL Club.

Quite a few New Holland Honeyeaters were hunting for insects.

Little Wattlebird

Not far past the Waterrun we stopped at great place for views and also to admire the Liesegang rings in the sandstone.

There is a lot of laterite here –

And great views.

More Liesegang rings –

Bullant

It was then time to start walking back for our lunch.
Banksia

More views.

Australasian Gannet

Jacky Dragon

If you look at the bottom cropped photo you can see a rope hanging down the cliffs.

We also encountered the honeyeater migration. Hundreds of mainly Yellow-faced Honeyeaters were heading north.

It had been a very pleasant morning walk. Many thanks to Brian for putting it on and for a lift from Engadine Station.
