It seems there had recently been some Peregrine Falcon action out on Malabar Headland. so Sue and myself decided to make a visit. Unfortunately, the weather on the day was not the best – being wet and windy. There are caves on the headland where you can shelter from rain, but the wind meant a lot of drips. Not that pleasant.

On the walk out from Maroubra Beach, we spotted a few Gannets.

And we spent a few hours further out, boating to see if any Peregrine Falcons were about – but we had no luck. None flying and none perched on the cliffs.
Walking back, we met up with Alana, and commiserated about the lack of Falcons on our visit.
We spotted a White-faced Heron trying to shelter from the wind –

Crested Tern

Little Black Cormorant

We had a few fleeting glimpse of a raptor – probably a Brown Goshawk, as we walked back. But it didn’t stay around.
