I had been too many fungi trips recently, and neglected the local birds, so this morning I set off along the Cooks River from Illawarra Road to see what birds were about. I then walked as far as the Princes Highway and caught a bus down to Barton Park. The day turned out to be relatively quiet.

First, on the Cooks River.
White-faced Heron

Then down to Barton Park. A few Welcome Swallows were sizing around looking for insects.
