More Aboriginal Art on Kings Tableland – 28 August 2025

Both Bob and myself were keen to check out some more Aboriginal art sites on Kings Tableland.

I had been to all of these sites before, and Bob had been to most of them, but we wanted to have a more thorough look, as we had missed some art earlier.

The first spot we visited were series of small overhangs. These featured a variety of art.

Here is some charcoal art. They appear to be human figures.

And this is unusual – faint gouged lines –

Here are some faint red ochre art. Again human figures.

More faint charcoal motifs –

We then visited another larger overhang. We found this charcoal art in an alcove –

And in the main cave was this very faint hand stencil –

And a faint charcoal motif –

Near this are is a large rock with two areas of sharpening grooves.

We then headed to along a fire road towards the cliffs.

Boronia sp.

There were some great views.

We looked for and found a small overhang that features a charcoal motif on the roof –

And Bob spotted this worked stone tool –

The day had been quite cold and very windy, so we finished off early and walked back to Bob’s car.
