I decided to visit Malabar Headland while the weather was good.

I had a reasonable day, although it was very quiet for long periods. But at least in nice weather, it was pleasant to sit to on the cliffs enjoying the scenery.
When I first walked in, I soon spotted a single Peregrine Falcon perched on the cliffs near Boora Point. The photo below is telephoto and it is hard to spot the falcon – in the middle. That is one reason it is always worth taking binoculars on these trips.

I could get a bit closer, and also by cropping a lot –

Then all of a sudden, with no warning, it flew off.
So, I found a good place to sit and wait. Here are some passing Humpback Whales –

And a passing Australasian Gannet –

A Kelp Gull –

The Blue Tongued Skink was enjoying the sun –

Another bird photographer, Simon arrived.
Alana was on her daily walk out on the Headland, And she stopped for a chat. We then walked out towards Boora Point to look for Peregrines. We did spot a White-bellied Sea Eagle (with a fish) – it flew past.

Some Ravens where giving the Sea Eagle a hard time –

Back to waiting. Another Humpback Whale –

A passing Pelican –

More whales –

By this stage, the wind had changed direction and it had become cold. I decided to walk out slowly, but at the landslide area, I spotted a Peregrine Falcon –

I sent a message to Simon to come over, and then waited to see if it would fly.

This is a sign that it is about to take off –

And another sign – wing stretching –

And then it took off –

The day had been a bit quieter than I would have liked, but seeing only one Peregrine Falcon at a time suggests that they are nesting.
