I had been planning this trip for a while, but had not had a suitable time to go. It had either been too hot or two rough for the ferry trips. The plan was to meet at Circular Quay, then catch the ferry to Manly. Then the bus to Palm Beach. Net the ferry from Palm Beach to Ettalong. Then a bus to Woy Woy and a train home to Sydney. I was joined by Sue and Valerie.

Here, the ferry is just setting off from Circular Quay.

It passes some small light houses.

And at Middle Head, this obelisk and WWII observation tower.

At Manly wharf, we visited this sculpture that is know by locals as “The Turd” –

Years ago, this sculpture had a water sprinkler, and it was then known as “The Steaming Turd”
Then a long bus trip to Palm Beach on the 199 bus.

The ferry trip to Ettalong was the highlight of the day.

There were good views of Lion Island and Box Head on the voyage.

Looking back – Barrenjoey, West Head and Lion Island on the right –

Lobster Beach

Before it reaches Ettalong, the ferry stops at Wagstaffe

We leave the ferry at Ettalong –

We only had a few minutes to wait for the bus to Woy Woy. We had lunch of fish and chips from the shop near Woy Woy Wharf.
Sue spotted this Osprey, perched on a pole near Woy Woy Station –

And we inside with a pleasant and relaxing train trip back to Central. Here is Mullet Creek –
