Birds at Oatley Park – 21 April 2026

Valerie was keen on an excursion, and I suggested a few places, and we decided to visit Oatley Park. We were lucky we spotted a nice range of birds.

Most of the birds we saw were in Lime Kiln Bay – many in Lime Kiln Bay Reserve and some in the Oatley Park section of Lime Kiln Bay.

Here are some photos –

Laughing Kookaburra

Brown Thonrbill

Rose Robin

Leaden Flycatcher

Tawny Frogmouths (thanks to a bird called Greg for showing us where these were) –

Little Pied Cormorant

Royal Spoonbill

Powerful Owls

Long-billed Corellas

Golden Whistler

Sulphur-crested Cockatoo

Brown Thornbill

Superb Fairy-wren

White-faced Heron

Great Egret

Yellow-faced Honeyeater

Grey Fantail

Golden Whistler

And we finished with another look at the pair of Powerful Owls

Many thanks to Valerie for driving down and back.
