Cooks River Birds – 22 May 2026

After a good encounter with a number of birds, the previous afternoon, I returned to the Cooks River hoping to get some better photos of the Sacred Kingfishers. On this visit, I did spot two Sacred Kingfishers, but was unable to get any photos of them. And no parrots! Also – the weather was not the best, with showers on and off.

Again, the section of the Cooks River that I visited was between Illawarra Road and Gough Whitlam Park.
