Cooks River Birds – 21 May 2026

I had spent the morning along Wolli Creek looking for fungi. The afternoon, I spent on the Cooks River photographing birds.

I started at Illawarra Road Bridge and walked down to Gough Whitlam Park and back. On this visit, I did watch a Sacred Kingfisher for a fair time. But it was in a mangrove section of the river, which made getting good flight shots difficult.
