Mudlarks Bird Survey – 9 June 2026

I had an early start to the day, with the Mudlarks Bird Survey being on. This month the group were surveying the downstream Wave Rock loop.

It was a beautiful fine morning to be out on the River, with mist rising from the still water when the sun hit the water.

A Little Heron was warming up in the sun –

A Little Cormorant was fishing –

Australian White Ibis

The Little Heron had gone down to the mudflats –

Little Black Cormorant 

Magpie Lark

In Beaman Park –

White-faced Heron

Magpie Lark

Australian Raven

Golden Whistler

The Cooks River from the footbridge to the Golf Course –

A long way downstream, we could see a Royal Spoonbill and a White-faced Heron

Willie Wagtails

Great Cormorant

Little Pied Cormorant

White-faced Heron

Little Corella

Tawny Frogmouth

And, as usual, the group finished with morning tea and chat at Ewen Park.
